Join synerG for a Lunch & Learn with Michael Parker, founder of Greensboro Financial Advocates, as he discusses the evolving challenges of personal finance. The world has changed and everyday people face obstacles, and opportunities, that their parents did not. In an examples-based presentation, Michael will provide new ideas on a broad range of topics that people commonly struggle with — from debt management and education funding… to the economics of Solar power… to strategies for reducing bills… to finding a savings account where you earn interest rather than paying fees.
ABOUT MICHAEL: AFTER GROWING UP IN GREENSBORO, MICHAEL PARKER STUDIED AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT CHAPEL HILL, RECEIVING HIS BS DEGREE IN MATHEMATICS IN 1992. AFTERWARDS, HE TAUGHT MATH AT THE HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL FOR TWO YEARS IN RALEIGH, THEN STUDIED WRITING AT THE GRADUATE LEVEL AT MIAMI UNIVERSITY THROUGH 1996. OVER THE FOLLOWING SIX YEARS, WHILE WORKING AS AN ENTRY LEVEL ACTUARY, MICHAEL COMPLETED THE RIGOROUS SERIES OF ACTUARIAL EXAMS, ACHIEVING HIS FELLOWSHIP DESIGNATION (FSA) FROM THE SOCIETY OF ACTUARIES IN 2002, WITH A CONCENTRATION IN THE AREA OF INVESTMENTS. HE IS A MEMBER OF THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF ACTUARIES (MAAA).
The Lunch & Learn will be held Monday, September 25 from 12-1pm at the Action Greensboro. Free lunch will be provided by Michael Parker – Greensboro Financial Advocates but RSVP required as space is limited.
