Position: synerG Young Professionals Manager
Reports to: Director of Talent Development, Action Greensboro
Overview
Join a team that’s shaping Greensboro’s next generation of talent. The synerG Young Professionals Manager leads Action Greensboro’s efforts to attract, engage, and connect young professionals to Greensboro. This role blends community-building, event planning, professional development, and marketing and is ideal for an energetic and motivated person who’s equal parts connector, creative, and organizer.
Key Responsibilities
Lead synerG Young Professionals
- Drive programs and initiatives that connect, engage, and inspire Greensboro’s 21–40 community.
- Manage the synerG Council, Executive Council, and committees by guiding agendas, projects, and volunteer leadership.
- Plan, promote, and execute events from networking socials to leadership programs of varying sizes.
- Identify emerging leaders and help them plug into the community.
- Keep a pulse on what young professionals need and evolve programming accordingly.
Marketing & Communications
- Oversee all marketing for synerG, including social media, email newsletters, and website updates.
- Support Action Greensboro’s broader communications and marketing efforts across digital and print channels.
- Create engaging content that captures the energy and impact of Greensboro’s young professional scene.
- Manage design, storytelling, and brand presence across campaigns and events.
Community Engagement
- Serve as the face of synerG in the community by connecting with businesses, nonprofits, and civic groups.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local organizations and partners.
- Coordinate outreach presentations and collaborative events like “On Tap” and other signature synerG experiences.
Operations & Management
- Manage day-to-day budget tasks and financial reporting in coordination with the Director of Talent Development.
- Support fundraising for programs and events through sponsorships and/or grants as needed.
- Recruit and supervise volunteers.
- Support Action Greensboro’s projects and events as part of a small, collaborative team.

- An organized and creative leader who is comfortable juggling details while keeping the big picture in focus.
- Experience in marketing, event planning, or community engagement preferred.
Other Job Details:
- Action Greensboro’s office is a nontraditional, open space and dog-friendly environment.
- synerG Manager should have a valid driver’s license, insurance and access to a vehicle for off-site meetings and events.
- synerG Manager must be able to staff evening meetings/events weekly and several weekend meetings/events per year.
- This is an in-person position based in Greensboro. Team collaboration, community engagement, and on-site presence are central to our work. Employees have the option to work from home on Fridays.
